I've tried two browsers now (Firefox and Safari), and I still see the same dark logo. And yes, I've tried clearing the cache.

This is wrong.

I think you have old images in cache. Its not supposed to be that dark.

EDIT: Also note that this may not be the final logo. I just liked this better than the red/gray/white one. This seems to blend in better, while the previous one was popping out too much.

We have had multiple "competitions" and nothing usable has come out of it. But feel free to try.

I propose a logo making competition with a basic PSD uploaded to work on, like in the EvilZine project, and add a poll to decide which logo is best. It's the easiest way of finding what the community prefers.
Somethings ande needs to be monopolistic though i am sure since it worked for the Ezine project then it can work with Alpha. It will give the members a sense of activity with the Alpha project.
I mean we can lay out the specifications like a dark thingamagig and the can work with the template.
If you can't explain it to a 6 year old, you don't understand it yourself.
