I don't really get what you want to say. The eBooks in our vault don't have any malware(I haven't encountered any). Google dorking is how we find eBooks. They're uploaded here, because our servers rarely, ever go down.

1. This is a 'hacker' website
2. Anyone can upload files here
3. SET has a simple tool that would allow any script kiddy to create a PDF backdoor.
https://www.nightlionsecurity.com/blog/guides/2012/04/usb-or-cd-infectious-media-attack-guide-with-social-engineering-toolkit/

If I wanted to hack someone on this site I could simply use that mechanism to generate a PDF file with a call back shell using the SET. I wouldn't need to worry about anyone here using a proxy like TOR, because it would be a direct connection back to me... This was pretty obvious I thought...

I'm not saying that is intentionally done by people here, but it COULD be done... I was simply advocating other methodologies and awareness.

and 4. Just because it hasn't happened to you (at least to your knowledge) doesn't mean it can't happen.

They'd be banned in a snap. We've had, what, one trojan complaint for an eBook, ever since I've been here. Personally, I'd feel safer, downloading from Evilzone.  Being a 'hacker' site, skids will think ten times before trying anything stupid. It's much more likely in external sites, where people are more likely to have inferior knowledge. We aren't crazy. Nobody tries to harm anyone unless they absolutely deserve it.

I believe that you may be quite intelligent Pak, but you have an incredibly naive outlook on this topic.
1. This being a 'hacker' site wouldn't deter someone that wanted to mess with anyone on this site, especially if they actually knew what they were doing. (Taking proper precautions to mask their information, hardening their own system, etc.) Infact they may very well like the challenge of someone more knowledgeable as an adversary.

2. Being "banned" is not a valid solution.
          a. I'm currently viewing this site from an IP routed through 5 different host machines, with the final exit node showing me as originating from Austria, and I assure you, I'm not in Austria.
          b. It's a trivial matter to create a new account on this site, I can create as many accounts as I would like.
So whether my account is deleted or my IP is banned it really doesn't matter. I could simply create another account from some other IP somewhere else in the world and no one would be the wiser.

3. I could play this same game a thousand times as a thousand different people, even if I did get caught uploading something. Then again for all you know, I've already uploaded several infectious PDFs/RARs on a different account...

4. The fact of the matter is that over 50% of the maleware that exists right now doesn't get picked up by antivirus's and if it's created new and the signature doesn't exist for it... well... ;) good luck with your antivirus picking up on that... The best malware doesn't just wreak havoc... It sits quietly on a system... Waiting, watching, pulling data...

My only point is this: You should always take proper precautions. Especially when dealing with a collective of dangerous minds.

sometimes you have to buy the book and chop the binding off and scan it. help the author to help out the internet folk.

whos afraid of a backdoor? anyone have a good mouse/keyboard tutorial to add to the obvious thread?

I don't really see any point arguing with you. Both of are arguments are based solely on opinions, and statistics. There is always a risk. In theory, everything is 'hackable.' The risk that exists here, also exists on other mirrors. The only reason for putting the eBooks up on EvilZone, is because our URL's don't change, and the database is backed up regularly. I agree with you on taking the proper precautions, but in the end, the only way to stay, truly safe, is to use a standalone PC, that's never connected to the internet :P

Calm your tits guys,
Yes @PolyMath you can say that in a hacking community it's likely that someone can use this kind of attacks
Yes @Pak_Track usually most of the people here are kinf=d enough to not do that

But anws you should always be safe, and take precautions, and getting hacking eBooks from other sites i guess have the same risk as here.
Both of your arguments are valid.
