Did you try to set your wifi card into monitor mode manually? (without airmon-ng)

Code: [Select]
ifconfig <your network card> down
iwconfig <your network card> mode monitor
ifconfig <your network card> up

Does this cause any errors?

Could you please post all entries from dmesg which are related to your broadcom card and can you provide the exact model of the card and your kernel version? The output of lspci would also help I guess.

Regarding the debian wiki your card should work with the brcm80211 driver. Please install it and configure your system accordingly and tell me if that worked for you.
