1. ...
2. You can't learn it over one night, it happens over years of hard work.
3. I never read a book from cover to cover. unless it's very well written and I have time to. Usually I first skim over the index and contents then read the most interesting / important stuff. after that, I'll read the rest if I have time to or if I'm bored.
I don't need or have time to read everything in a book so I don't bother with it.

Um amphetamines duh. Jk- as far as time is concerned you have to make time. Start multitasking, or cram a bunch of work into one day to give yourself extra time. I will spend an entire day just doing homework and studying so that I have a few days free. If neither of those things work for you then create a planner. Figure out how much work you are going to do each day and experiment with it until you have enough free time over all.

As far as getting yourself to do things step-by-step, you have to force yourself to do it until you manage to do just one big, cool thing. That helps train you to make a connection between doing it right and making something that's rad. After that first time it gets way easier because your brain has made the connection between the work and the reward.- if someone gave you $5 for every math problem you showed work on you would show work on everyone right?

As far as the reading goes: studies show that when doing thinks that we consider boring and/or tedious we are only able to stay concentrated for about 15 minutes. Try reading for 10-15 minutes and then take a break for a couple minutes- but only a couple minutes or you'll never get anything done.

If you want me to go over anything in more detail (or in less), just ask.

Edit:
Oh also, when it comes to something you truly want to learn, DO NOT cram. Review old information for 10-30 minutes a day. If it is on a topic that is harder for you then go ahead and do more, but otherwise stick with that. For new internet stick with the above plan. (15 minutes then a break, repeat)

- If you're going into "hacking", you should not see it as a chore or something of the sort. Hacking should be a hobby, or something fun for you. If you start doing it with the thought "I don't want to be doing this" then you aren't going to be successful.

This.
And also there are all kinds of hacking related things you can do. If you don't like coding and software then check out the hardware, if that doesn't interest you then try building an effing robot. There are all kinds of things you can do so try experimenting a little.

Every morning you wake up, do as many push-ups as you can for one minute. Do it every day until you reach 100. Potential increase of strength and confidence: 1000% for only one minute a day.
Every 3 - 5 seconds evaluate your surroundings for the next best possible weapon and where to jump if shot at.
Walk and take public transportation. Say hello in a friendly manner to anyone that holds your eye contact
Affirm to yourself that your mind is a magnet; that what you put as positive effort into thinking and believing; you will manifest and attract unto you.
While in transit to and from point a to point b on public transportation you can practice war-driving, reading ebooks, practicing social engineering.

Like: Macgyver, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Sneakers, The Goonies, taoism, the 1980's.
The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.

Damn, +1 for you. For the evaluation of your surroundings also make sure you know the location of at least two exits/escape routs (doors, windows, etc.) And try to remember where people are around you. Watch people and try to lookout for weird behavior. Plus eavesdropping is a good habit and allows you to learn things about the people around you.

If you are wondering what this had to do with your questions, it's all about your mindset. Making your brain work in ways it's not used to is healthy. Both your brain and your other muscles get better with use, so use them.

Thank you someone finally said it. Hacking is much more than a skill and learning to program. What most people fail to realise without a mindset of needing to always know more and why, you'll always just be a skiddy, no matter what you may accomplish. Thinking outside of the box is a priority and the only way. Hacking is the art of taking something for a specific purpose and gaining control of it to accomplish what you intend to accomplish. Training your mind to do the same is what takes years of mastery. Any geek can program or build a computer but a hacker needs more to survive. Hackers aren't satisfied with building a rig, hackers are satisfied when they've modified that rig to do something different. Get out of the box and stay out, never go back into the box. Hacking for some can never be taught, the mind must be molded and sculpted for hacking. It doesn't matter how many ebooks you read on the subject. A mindset can not be read in a book. It takes discipline and training, learning and growing. A hacker will never be satisfied with the knowledge (s)he has. The day you stop striving for more knowledge is the day you stop being a hacker.

Study people, people are the most fascinating things as each one is independent and it varies significantly from race to gender to locale. Humans are also the most rewarding form of hacking as the manipulation of the human brain is the ultimate hack, no computers involved. You get into someone's head you map it out, find out their strengths, their weaknesses, their bank account, their insecurities, who and how they trust. However before you can plant seeds in others mind, you must first plant a seed in your own, the seed shall never stop growing and lives off knowledge. Never limit yourself and always keep learning. This is the foundation that breeds a hacker. Learn programming, sure, but that does not make you a hacker, that makes you a programmer. Its how your brain utilizes that knowledge in a matter that was never intended is what makes you a hacker.

Remember my words, May they resonate deep within all of you. Never stop learning. As long as you continue learning there will always be a chance for you. Never give up on your quest for knowledge. Knowledge is power, a power we all seek. Now go, go hunt for your knowledge in whatever it is that peaks your interest, just never stop the hunt.

I have some questions.

Q1. How you people arrange time for hacking ? i mean among other things.
Simple. I don't. I arrange time for work, school, play, girlfriend, etc. Hacking just... happens. If I have a spare few minutes I can bang out a bit of code, if an oppurtunity arises to mess with something.. I do. If you approach hacking like a job, it isn't very fun. Unless of course it IS your job :)

Q2. How you restrict yourself for learning step by step? I actually want to learn all in no time  :)  ,but end up being uninterested and bored. :(
Choose a BIG problem, then solve it. Youll be forced to learn it all step by step if you want to solve the problem... then once youve solved it, choose a bigger problem.

Q3. How you read ebooks? i start them but they never end  :(
Eh, some people love em some people hate em. Only one I've ever read "cover" to "cover" was the TCP/IP Bible.

P.S. Sorry For my Bad English.

I agree with all your posts!!...  :)

I know hacking is an attitude , it is a lifestyle....
But as all noobs are impatient, they see hacking movies and think that they are cool.. So now they want to become Hackers.. But when they know that we have to understand basics of computers and master them to program it as we desire...they feel hopeless and hacking is boring...

Another point is when you know something about computers and you search more you got 3 cases:
1- you find the next level of info you desired.
2- you find the very high level of info
3- you find very low level of info...

P.S. Here levels don't describe programming languages levels.

in case 1 you got the right info and you read and understand .. and in other 2 cases you got less and feel bored...

As hacking is something people try to hide their own methods and stuff .. and is diverged a lot , a step by step manual is not there....

Q. Honestly tell me guys, u never found hacking boring??

i am none of the above guys i mentioned.. i actually have a trait of "easily bored" but i'm good at regaining interest in some time"

Thanks For answering me in Ques Ans format  ;) . Actually hacking is my hobby , what i do in leisure. But i want leisure, which is not always there. And i like your "Divide And Conquer" Scheme which i am learning in DAA (Design and Analysis Of Algorithms).

@Deepcopy Bro

Sorry for not tagging you but your text is very big  :P . Your Answer Truly deserve my Hatt's Off.  8)
yeah i agree that a hacker needs more to survive than a geek programmer. I always think the other way.. so i think my "Think outside the box" skills are nice. but my knowledge matters and that i want from books...  :)

I know hacking  takes 3 things :
1-Skills
2-Knowledge
3-Ethics

i have 1 and 3 but nothing of 2nd .. so i'm reading books :)

@Shadowwolf  @0E800 @Nerotic7

I agree with you all  :) .

My question is how you read ebooks? which ebook reader you use? and all stuff about computer reading...  :o

I download ebooks as pdf on my phone. That way I can read them whenever I have spare time. As far as the whole reading and knowledge thing, well I am lucky in that I love reading. Not everyone learns by reading. If you don't like reading or you don't absorb read information very well then try watching video tutorials. Once you understand the basics just practice.
