Novice hacker - in need of advice
« on: November 12, 2014, 05:37:12 pm »
I'm new this "hobby" of hacking, but i've had a interest for some years now and now finally i have bought some books and spending time learning about hacking. But its such a big subject i don't want to be looking or spending hours researching in the wrong place. I've bought a book on penetration testing and metasploit, but I'm not quite understanding what metasploit is. Is it a security software or is it a program to learn ruby or python! if one of the more advance users on this site can give me some accurate insight it would be much appreciated.

1) On the top of this section you could easily see "Where to start hacking" thread. You should read that first

2) There's no point in asking a question that you could answer yourself with a simple Google search.

My advice: Metasploit is not the best starting point if you are new to this.
Everything's relative
