I'm not sure what to say... people fear the most of what they have no control, is all I'm gonna say.
This of course is fueled by the media as they report only bad things about hackers and the lack of education for any murican about this.
credit fraud/identity theft is not only the fastest growing crime in america, its also the #1 crime. my family alone, the only one i can think of that has yet to experience it is my sister. How is being worried about a virtual certainty(given that you live long enough) that someone out their is going to do their best to fuck you over a dumb thing? To change the scenario:if you constantly walked across a busy street without watching for traffic(just blindly stepping out into traffic) eventually you will be hit, someone will not see you, or not be able to break in time. But we dont do this, we worry about just that, being hit by a car, so we stop and look to make sure someone isnt going to plow into us. its prudence, not paranoia. If anything the media does NOT address the issue nearly enough. anything under 1 million CCs/IDs compromised and your unlikely to even hear about it. Oh its only 10000 people at risk, thats not even news, not when the kardashians are walking on the red carpet, that shit is important!
