The most strategic game ever created...
« on: February 05, 2015, 12:40:47 pm »
GO the GAME

Go is a board game. Found in China before like 2.500 years ago, it still remains to be the hardest and the most strategic board game ever created. It requires to think harder-faster than your opponent. The player whos strategy and thinking is forward than the other will always win. Go has 10761  different possible games (just think that chess has 10120 different possible games...) that can take place based on its very simple rules and the simplicity of the game in general. All the pions have the same abilities no special pions existing on this game. The main goal is to conquer the table with your pions. I found this game to be the most interesting game ever played really. You meet and play vs very smart persons usually, and this is something very important to me.

Some useful links:
Some small achievements of mine:I would love to know what you people think about this game. Have you ever heard of this game before? Are there any Go players in EvilZone? Anyone wanna play together, share strategies or thoughts in general?

Wild Cheers!

im normally excellent at games of strategy. i literally cant play for free drinks in thailand on connect 4 or any other game of strategy(they even have this dice game similar to backgammon(i forget its name) that they couldnt beat me in. That being said one of the bartenders i always played games of strategy with (chess/connect 4/go/etc) in japan ....could never beat me in anything BUT go, and i mean she CRUSHED ME. EVERY game. ive probably played her a hundred or so times, never once beat her. For whatever reason im horrible at that game. So have i played? sure. would i be a challenge for you? probably not. now if you want to get wrecked in dominos/connect 4/chess...sure but go? yeah im like a toddler with a hammer in that game.

Haha, well i am interesting in Go. I really suggest you to get train on it if you like strategy board games. If you were playing Go for first time with her it was normal to get beat. I am sure you will win her someday!

You are welcome.

Well I doubt if there are no master mate. Get on the site I linked and play there are some 5k-8k players which are unbeatable really... As more as you play and exercise, you change your tactic more you make it better and more flexible. That being said take in concern that you will never be able to have a single strategy you must always be ready to change it and adopt based on the enemies gameplay!

What I wanted to say is that there are good players around, almost not possible to win against them, but they alone are not even close to master the game itself. No one can be that good when you have so much combinations :D . But of course, they are the best at the moment :D

Well the best on https://online-go.com/ yea. But of course not the best in the world. Best Go players on the world play only on 25x25 games (original size).... This games would last more than 1 day for sure! I doubt if they even play online, so probably we will never meet them.

It is good to play with high skilled players so you can decode there strategies and then grab-apply some things on yours. Though as I said already its very hard to make a single strategy which will always be functional, flexibility on the your strategy is the most valuable thing.

Are you registered on https://online-go.com/ ?

Sun Tzu avoided fighting , and all he did was conquering the territory . Just like this strategy game is. I heard about this game from the documentary about Sun Tzu, but never tested it before. But now, I am so much in love. And yes, I am regirstered there. My nick is Alatoru.

It's true, Go is an amazing game.
I try to practice it on a regular basis with my father who is a good player. It's so deep...
I'm completely noob... so be patient...
Any French guys here ?

I fail so bad at strategic board games because shitty attention makes me miss really freakin' obvious things and I over think what I do see.
But all this enthusiasm is making me intrigued - maybe I'll go check  it out (no pun intended). By any chance, does Go=Shougi? I don't remember...

You must be absolutely concentrated when you are playing Go really. Otherwise sooner or later you gonna suffer so hard. Have this in mind when/if you will start playing. And take some "courses" with bots or puzzles first, so you learn the basics. The website I linked has this feature, in fact it has 4-5 different level of difficulty bots.

By any chance, does Go=Shougi? I don't remember...
No its not, it is a different game.
