Which logo do you like better?

So I am designing this logo for a kettle corn company    and I need some opinions on which you think is better. I tried to have a little fun with it in the second picture.





And here is the second design.









Which one do you think would be better? They are a family company that does local fairs and events and they want it to be a fun design. To be honest I think my first one may be a little to plain.

I have a recommendations.

1. Get the first one and separate the two words "savory" and "sweet" then put the one on the left "savory" and the other to the left "sweet" of the sweet image.

2. Take the whole phrase and put it on the bottom with the same circle effect as the top phrase has.


From this two, I really don't like either one.
