Anyone use WOT ?
« on: February 25, 2015, 09:35:52 am »
Does anyone here use WOT (web of trust) to help zero out malicious web links when using (or abusing) Google ? I find it sort of helpful if it wasn't for assholes abusing the whole system because they disagree with a web page.

I think WOT is an excellent chrome or chromium extension to have so that you don't run into those semi-pesky crypt-locking sites that supposedly locks your browser but doesn't really . I ran into a couple sites like that before discovering WOT and since I use Linux  I haven't really became a victim of those crypt-locker malware.

I would suggest that you look into the extension to avoid malicious Google dorks links when  for looking for music, videos or whatever you want as the site might or might not be blacklisted as malicious by these program. I hate sites that are malicious that only use JavaScript to make sure you cant close your browser!

I use it, but it is not always helpful. Just seeing the good reputation of HF. I wonder if they awarded their users for doing that.

I think 95% of all members in here have either heard of or is using it.

I use it as a general guide-line when browsing the web. I just briefly watch the colour of the rating and read the description on Google. Then make an assumption based on that.
"Ruby devs do, in fact, get all the girls. No girl wants a python, but EVERY girl wants rubies" - connection

"It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter’s Law."

Its part of my default tools, I never browse the web without stuff like this.

NoScript/AlwaysHTTPS/WOT/PageMonitor/AdBlock+ etc etc.
