« on: April 30, 2015, 11:36:00 am »
Hi Guys,

I have installed Ubuntu in Vmware and I have also installed some applications in it. Now my question is it possible to convert this Ubuntu vm machine into a bootable iso without losing the changes i have made in the os. ?

How much time are you willing to devote to this?

Another way:

Using remastersys. You will have to find the packages, as its not longer maintained. You will also most likely need to patch your kernel to support AUFS. You will know when you do, because when you finally get remastersys to create an iso for you, it will fail to boot and say something like:
Code: [Select]
"(initramfs) mount: mounting aufs on /root failed: No such device
Aufs mount failed"

Most of the tutorials for patching the kernel for aufs support are broken, but after reading enough of em, you will get the idea.

Try starting here:

Stick with it.
