« on: May 25, 2015, 05:38:26 pm »
Me a few months ago:
"Kali for ARM processor?!?! I wanna be like watchdogs!!!"
*installs  Kali w/ top 10 tools*
*installs VNC and all extra tools*
"Alright time for a field test... ill just crack a wif password..."
*Epic fail*

Apparently, the wifi my phone is quite lame and it doesn't support monitor mode...

He's actually made a lot of progress since I last looked into this. With a galaxy s2 you should be able to use his guides on building a kernel for use with a usb otg and usb WiFi card that does support monitor mode. I personally like ath9k, but meh that's a preference

And nothing will ever be like watchdogs btw

AFAIK Nokia N900 is STILL the only mobile phone with monitor mode, pwnPhone project was quite large and the whole maemo thing was awesome when it came out, but I don't know if it's worth the money now...

I have an Alpha card from when i used to do it from a laptop. its a power hog, and kind of defeats the being stealthy thing, but id be willing to screw with it if you guys think it could work.

And I know but that's how i have to explain to normal people what I'm doing. lol

You'll have to build your own kernel for use with the specific chipset, not device for you cell. Follow the guide on his blog

For what it's worth, Offensive Security has a Kali project called Nethunter with official support for Nexus devices and the Oneplus one. I don't think they support monitor mode though, so you'll need to use a USB card like the alpha card.
http://www.nethunter.com/

Don't have any experience with it myself yet, but I'm getting a Oneplus one pretty soon and will play around with it.

The only phone ive used that supports injection from internal wifi is the N900 but it can be a pain in the ass to use and it bricks kinda easy.

The pwnphone is alot of money but the image is actually free, the only difference is u dont get any live support, but its an extra $150 for the support anyways even if you buy the phone from them.

Easiest thing to do is get a NEXUS device 5,6 or OnePlus phone wise and you can install anything u want on it . Nethunter , pwnies express image and kalipwn(older) they are all free  .. I just got the nexus 6 and it seems to be pretty fast with no issues yet.

To do injection tho u need a otg cable and wifi card.
most people use the TP-link wn722n but its bulking http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WN722N-Wireless-Adapter-External/dp/B002SZEOLG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432604225&sr=8-1&keywords=tplink+wn722n

I prefer these they are smaller and can do injection.

This is a lot of help, thank all you guys. especially deep copy and white knight.

So youre saying i either need to code my own to work with my wifi card or I need to get that nexus, put the pwnie image on it, an otg cable, and fuck that alpha card i'll get one of those tiny ones white knight linked to. lol.

"Whats that?"
"Oh its a portable charger, man, dont worry about it." lol

look, either way, ill be cracking stuff by 2016 i promise that.

Or....

You can check get a PC tablet and run regular Kali, but that'd be too easy :-P

I would suggest building your own kernel. Its a fun learning expirence and gets you more intiment with your system xD

OR you could get a raspberry pi and use that. Would need to add a gsm radio to make it technically a phone if you really needed it, but meh.
