Is hacking a mentality or skillset?
« on: May 28, 2015, 11:02:54 pm »
I've really not fully understood if hacking is a mindset or skillset, or is it both? I mean, for me, hacking is being able to look at something and be able to modify it or exploit it, physically or virtually.
Hey, this is my linux bullet, take it! It can hack anything!

Oh for fuck sake really? Has this question not been answered not a couple of weeks ago on this forum? Let alone the Internet constantly?

Hacking is a mentality. It's about self improvement, tinkering and discovery in unconventional ways, computing or not. It's efficency and finding logical outcomes to problems.

For security "hacking", It's both the mindset and partly the skillset. It does not matter how curious or smart you are, if you don't understand how a particular system works, you can't actually hack it yourself.

Actually, most people don't know that. The skid invasion doesn't know it. Anyway, thanks for the understanding response.
