Kali and Wireless Hacking...

I am looking to buy a USB WIFI adapter as my laptops WIFI card does not work with Linux, plus it is not supported by Kali and other pentesting distros. Even though it says it supports Linux could you tell me if it would support programs which come with Kali? Plus if you do know any decent USB adapters that work with Kali that would be great. I am looking for one that is more of a dongle and not one that sits on a desk. Thanks.

Anything with an atheros chipset, if you're going to be doing wireless auditing. Although I wouldn't use the same wireless card for auditing and normal browsing because you're going to be putting a lot of stress on the card you're using for injection

Me n proxx are atheros purists. Atheros gives the best stability when it comes to wireless auditing.

Make sure to get one with an atheros chipset, then check aircrack-ng wiki for recommended. Just be sure to get one with an atheros chipset. You won't be disappointed when it comes to wireless auditing.

i have the TP Link WN722N Usb 2.0 stick and this doing a good job.

Except for increase the txpower of this card, i cant manage that. I think you have to modify the open source firmware..

One more time I will explain why.

The famed Alfa cards do work good for basic wifi attacks such as cracking WEP and grabbing handshakes. However that is about all they can seem to handle, or I have bought about 6 shitty ones in a row.

If you try to use the card for anything more demanding such as streaming video, downloading shit, etc It will overheat and the connection will take a shit.

I have had times where I was able to get into networks but when I try to connect to it with that card it will be so slow that you cannot hardly do anything at all. Yet others can handle it fine.

Have also had a time where I tried to use it for MITM/fake AP attacks and as soon as the victim starts to actually use the internet it freezes up and looses the whole thing.

Fuck that shitty ass card. I'm pretty sure it is the drivers more than the card itself, but all the same in the end.
