WiFi access help
« on: February 13, 2012, 06:28:36 pm »
So someone in my school managed to get the wifi password and passed it out. However, an administrator found out and set up an IP block. Of course they never did a "whitelist" to allow the admins computers through, but when they do make one, how can I steal a whitelisted computers IP or hide mine behind it so I can have wifi access again? I do have internet and networking access via ethernet cable, if that helps any.

Well it wouldn't be hard to figure which ones work, usually the admin ones have "office" after their IP. How would I go about the cloaking though?

In order to block out IP's (and not MAC's) that means that every administrator pc's will have a static IP, therefore your best choice would probably be spoofing you're IP.
Once inside you can add another IP to the static list and add an exclusion in DHCP (so you can use it at any time).

I'm not 100% sure, however, I believe that according to the hardware installed you can get some problems with IP Spoofing if you and the real client are log in at same time.

I believe Hubs will simply forward all the info according to the IP and will not check the MAC which means you'll get data meant for the real admin and your own data, the same would happen to him.
While Routers will compare the MAC also and shouldn't cause any problems.

However there is no way to get access to the whitelist remotely, you should get access to the network/server first.

Ok, makes sense. Although I think I'm gonna wait until they're done screwing with it, they can't figure out what they're doing and had the internet shut completely off all day today. Maybe they'll just go with changing the routers password...They assume that someone hacked the password before, but really it was some kid eavesdropping.
