Dead USB stick
« on: April 16, 2012, 02:48:51 pm »
I have a 16GB Sony usb stick, it went dead on Saturday for no reason. When I say dead I mean the PC doesn't identify it at all, is there any way I can retrieve the data from it.

did you try plugging it into another computer to make sure the usb port you're plugging it into isn't messed up?

Yeah most likely your USB port went dead. Flash drives don't go dead just like that.
If it has, then I don't think you can do anything about it :D your data is lost...

I would say reference this article: http://www.recovermyflashdrive.com/articles/how-flash-drives-fail and try to troubleshoot from there.
