How to stay anonymous on linux

Hello friends,

Basically i was wondering how to stay anonymous on linux. On windows we have all those applications for hiding ip  like Auto hide ip , hide ip easy and platinum hide ip. What applications do we have on linux?
You know what , im going to ask question other way around...
How do you stay anonymous on linux ?

The same applies for Linux, just with maybe different tools. Still VPN, still proxies, still SSH's... one is a firefox add-on called FoxyProxy, then there is TOR, and then there is SSH, and then there is...

Ugh sometimes I really want to be moderator of this board. Yes as Kulverstukas said it's all the same concepts. In my opinion it's easier to do so in linux because instead of downloading a GUI you just enter in a few commands in many cases. Also, I haven't really heard of any of the things you mentioned but I doubt they provide any real anonymity. I would recommend proxies and such.

Tor is better than a simple proxy, and SSH can be used as a proxy also (-D option).

Tor is generally better than a simple proxy yes but it's not as secure as you may think. It's better to use Tor with a proxy also
