Hello and welcome to the new Evilzone forum.
This topic will clear up alot of questions regarding whats currently going on with the new look/rules etc. And also the history of these other communities that are being blended into Evilzone.
First of, let me say why we have chosen to go back to a more "dark" look and rules. The past month or so have been quiet.. But still, troublesome. Even after all the work Evilzone staff have done to turn Evilzone away from the "dark" scene, we have had DoS, DDoS and other negative activities aimed towards Evilzone. Now, we have managed to keep a good uptime rate non the less. My point is, even though Evilzone have tried to escape from the dark-side. It seems impossible. So why bother? To be honest, I cant even remember why we started turning the other direction in the first place.(yaya, it had to do with quality and professionality... But who fucking cares about quality if there is 5 active members?). So, Evilzone is going back to the old-style Evilzone. Not 100%, but almost. Rules and ideology will be much of the same.
For this new era of Evilzone we have invited almost 17.000 members back from various databases(all owned by the owner(s) of Evilzone).
About 14.000 old Evilzone members, 2.000 1nj3ct members and 500 Nationalhacker members.
For those of you who have no clue what 1nj3ct was, or what Nationalhacker was or are comming from 1nj3ct and have no clue what either of Evilzone or Nationalhacker was etc.
1nj3ct, or 1nj3ct.org/in/com/eu/ws/info and whatnot is one of my old community creations created at a time where I left Evilzone for a while.
Nationalhacker.org, created soon after the closing of 1nj3ct but only lasted a few months I believe, and never got very big. It was a good run though.
To put things in time-perspective.(My timeline anyway, Evilzone have been online the entire time 1nj3ct and Nationalhacker was online)
Evilzone->1nj3ct->Nationalhacker->Evilzone
But enough of the other communities. This is now, now is Evilzone.
Evilzone, earlier called Evilzone.net and even earlier HackersHeaven was founded by Netspliter and Evil.Io. Netspliter and Evil.Io got in some kind of argument and an internal war broke out inside Evilzone(.net at that time). The domain Evilzone.org was created and Evilzone was now split in half. Evilzone.org and Evilzone.net. In the end Evilzone.org "won" the war and have since then been the only version of Evilzone.
My entry at Evilzone was December 13, 2007. By this time I believe there was more than 100.000 posts or close to it, and alot of members. There were days with way over a hundred new posts and just as many comments. The community was AWESOME. When I first got to Evilzone I was a complete noob, Evilzone is infact what got me into this game(IFailStuff, previously under another nick was the one who introduced Evilzone to me). From the time I started posting to the time I was first promoted to moderator of Evilzone is a little foggy for me, but not long after I was promoted to mod I was again promoted to Administrator after getting to know Netspliter fairly well.
Years passed, and the community was still awesome. Ofcourse it had its ups and down, as any old Evilzoner will recall when he or she reads this. But, I stand my ground, it was awesome. I won't go in any detailed history from this time in this topic, but there were alot of happenings back then.
Then the time of 1nj3ct arrived. After some drama at Evilzone I decided to go another direction and leave Evilzone. I believe I already knew Darkc0ke quite well at this time, and we ended up starting 1nj3ct. 1nj3ct really was one of a kind, it got extremely popular in just two months. But for unknown reasons it was closed.
After 1nj3ct closed down I kinda had nothing to do and I still wanted to run a forum, so I created Nationalhacker. Nationalhacker never really got a great deal of attention, but it was a cool forum non the less. Nationalhacker was closed short time after its opening also because of unknown reasons.
Now I had nothing.. No 1nj3ct, no Nationalhacker. So ya, I ended up coming back to Evilzone. Things got taken care of, and I was reunited with Evilzone and got my administrator status back iirc.
Time passed and nothing really important or interesting happened at this time. Odin was the main owner of Evilzone at this time, with Netspliter still in control of the domain. For some reasons Evilzone was dying. It got less and less interesting topics/discussions and members. Not wanting to sit around and watch, I stole Evilzone. I got root access to the server, dumped the database and gained domain control. Without anyone noticing I set up a new server with the same old database and repointed the domain to my server. Demoted all other administrators so I was in complete control. Now, this may seem very bad
And it kinda was too, but it really was for the best interest of Evilzone, either it worked out or not. My idea was to change Evilzone into something more ethical and professional, that way bringing more quality topics/discussion/posts to the community. It started with changing the rules, removing the showoff board and disallowing defacements in the name of Evilzone. Short after, we even closed the old forum and started a new forum(all of these forums are available in the archives) to get rid of old crap. This new forum was open for a while, got ~3k members and about 10k posts. This forum was of somewhat quality, but it died even faster than the old forum. It really was quality over quantity. Satan911 was at this time co-admin and owner of Evilzone. We ended up closing this forum to because things didn't worked out the way we wanted it to, and Evilzone became a IRC network instead. We setup a blog index with information about Evilzone and its network instead of having a forum.
For a long time Evilzone was a IRC network only, we provided IRC hosting for anyone who wanted it, other communities etc. This we still do if anyone is interested. Only a few months back from now(March 2011) we created a mini-forum for Evilzone, this one didn't work out that well, but we tried again with a new dedicated forum only weeks later. This forum turned out much like the one after the oldest forum, it had some quality to it, but there was not much activity going on. This forum is available in the archives under the name "the white board".
Now we have closed "the white board" and are starting a new era with this board.
This will be Evilzone's last attempt to create a popular forum once again. And we hope our old members will come back and have fun with Evilzone once again.
On a final note, I would like to say that this "story" is as told from my point of view. If you have a different experience, you are more than welcome to post it here
I may even have remembered wrong, so do notify about false information if you find any.
