phone screen problem!
« on: July 04, 2012, 07:38:17 am »
my cell phone (model htc evo 3d) screen is malfunctioning. The 4 "capacitive" buttons are not responding and sometimes they get pressed without touching and most of the time they stop responding altogether.

okay.. so I have googled everything that I could and all I get is to get the digitizer replaced. I was going to do just that when I accidentally left my phone in front of the AC.. when I got back the screen started working as it should!

after about half an hour it went back to being erratic :(.  So I kept it again in front of the ac and it worked again!
WTF?
does anyone know what is happening or should I just go ahead and get the screen replaced?

Well if the phone only works when it's cold, I'd say there's a problem with it, so replace the digitizer.

Take it to a reputable cell phone repair shop. They should be able to diagnose the problem. Sounds to me like it may be overheating. If you happened to have left it by the AC and all of a sudden it works fine again. It may be a combination of the digitizer being faulty - which would cause the keys to be unresponsive - and the device potentially overheating. But it's best to take it in and get it assessed so you can get a definitive answer as to the nature of your problem and the possible cost for a fix

Good luck  :)
