Stop services without admin privileges
« on: August 27, 2012, 10:50:36 pm »
Well, at my school, we have lan schools. D: If it was version 6.9- it would be pretty awesome(They used unencrypted udp packets) but they use version 7.3 or whatever. Anyways, our hub has been going out lately and the teacher leaves the room for a while. I would like to kill the lanschool service, but I don;t have admin access. I can't do anything while having that running. It has a keylogger, logs what programs run, logs outgoing/incoming traffic, she can see my screen and shit. Anyways, what is a way I can stop the service without admin access?

Three simple steps:
- find a vulnerability
- write an exploit for the vulnerability
- execute the exploit

On a more serious note, you could try this tool, but then your teacher would still see that you have used it:
http://processhacker.sourceforge.net/index.php

Or you cut unplug the LAN cable when teacher is not looking just before doing it and plug it back in after doing it.
But then the teacher might get a warning that one of lan schools clients has been disconected, so she might just come to your workstation and turn it on again.
There is not much you can do in such a controlled environment.

"A programmer’s greatest enemy isn’t the tools or the boss or the artists or the design or the legacy code or the third party code or the API or the OS. A programmer’s greatest enemy is getting stuck.
Therefore a crucial step to becoming a better programmer is learning how to avoid getting stuck, to recognize when you’re stuck, and to get unstuck." -Jeff Wofford

Thank you. And we have been having trouble with our hub, so it disconnects us from the lanschol server. I could do it then

The teacher knows if you unplugged your network cable because your IP Address changed and is reported to the teacher.
Make sure the teacher can't view your computer screen manually from where you are sitting
If you are caught doing this you may just get your internet privileges taken away
If you are caught doing this, administration will most likely suspend you. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
The teachers CAN view your application history by viewing keys you have pressed.
