This is by FAR the funniest answer to a telemarketer I have ever heard. The Telemarketer calls the individual, and watch how the person responds to the call.

**No offense to any individuals in the "telemarketing" field. I was simply posting an interesting video I found.

While I can respect getting mad at douchy telemarketers, I am slightly offended by this as I am a telemarketer. I get paid to call people and ofer them newspaper subscriptions, and we have a bad reputation thanks to the shitty companies who really don't give a damn and push you until your pissed, also understand that we telemarketers are people too. If their being rude, rhen by all means prank them. But please, make sure their actually douche bags before being an ass. Idk how many times I call someone and be extremely polite yet get yelled at, have my parents and my sexual orientation called into question, so on so forth. Now while I havent reached the breaking point yet, mostly because I don't want to lose my job, keep in mind when we call you we have your phone number and address at the least. It would pretty simple to order a couple pizzas to your house, place magazine subs for you, etc. Without getting caught

At least, if your getting a call about the paper be polite please. Its fine to ask us to take you off of the list, we will. But there's no.need to be an ass about it, even.if you don't want the paper there are quite a few people who rely on our calls to get the deals on their news sub. Just ask us to take you off the list and don't worry about us calling you again. We don't want to pay the 15000 fine for contacting a number that's been asked to be off the list.

I did not mean to offend you in any way shape or form. Think about the video from the receiving end, it was a well play prank. This video made me laugh, and my intentions to posting the link was to get other people laughing as well. I titled the thread the way I did because it is more original and specific than "Funny video".

Again I apologize if I have offended you.

Lol you didn't offend me at all, it was well played! I'm just asking anyone who feels like pranking telemarketers to consider what I said above first. Shit, we pranked a douchebaggy TM at work. One of our reps got a call at break and when she asked to.be taken off the list the other person.said they'd keep calling.until she bought whatever they were selling. So we loaded her number into our dialer and called it every other minute for an hour. She never called our rep again :)

What I meant by offense earlier was the people pulling the prank, because there are a lot of people who pull that shit for no reason at all which just pisses me off because its just plain rude. So think a bit before pranking, but if they deserve it then prank away!!!

Your a telemarketer?  No offense, but how the hell do I keep you guys from calling me?  The "do not call" list doesn't seem to work very well.   I often have to be at work early, which means I get up at 0300, so getting a call after 9 PM tends to piss me off.

Lol none taken. And if your in.the US its illegal for them to call you after 9, just record the company info and their number (which prolly wont be much help) and report it to the attorney general. Also if the same company calls you after you ask to be off the list, report them to the attorney general. However if you sign up for their product online or whatever then you are giving permission to be put back on their list.

Edit* spelling errors.
Also, if you report them to the AG then make sure to follow up on it because by not taking you off the list or calling after 9 they can get sued and fined. Im not sure if you get the fine paid to you or not, but it's still nice to kick asshole companies in the teeth. Cheers man

Spoken wisely, I never thought about it like that.

Lol tbh, telemarketing makes you into an awesome sales person. As for ridiculous stories...i love it when people tell me they can't read. Now when I call mississippi, I believe it and don't say anything lol. But when it's in Cali or washington, i just say "and that's the best part of the newspaper, it's written at a 4th grade reading level with plenty of pictures, so you can teach yourself to read :) " and 90% of the time they laugh and tell me they can read. :P

I made a call one witch lasted for around 1,5h and the usuall call sould last for 5-10min. We talked about pretty mutch everything movies, music, food other ppl and so on. my boss wassen't glad at me and i lost some sales time but i dident care its calls like that that keep you going

I've done stuff like this to telemarketers, why because they call all day every day. The phone rings at least 100 times a day that are telemarketers either looking for my dad (who doesn't even live here any more) or my grandma. All of it junk and spam... I'll just answer and when they ask, tell them he/she died and its really upsetting for them to keep calling 10 times every hour.

I used to "pretend" to be a telemarketer when I was younger. Thought it would be a funny prank to get my relatives interested in buying a product that never existed.

That's not very nice.. Wasting someone's time because they have a job to do? It is not there fault, it's the employers fault.
