Favorite browser?
« on: September 08, 2012, 07:28:43 am »
Simple question. What is your preferred browser? What is it that you like about your browser? Please let me know what OS your using, because browsers tend to be a bit different on other operating systems.

Currently when I am on Vista, I enjoy using Google chrome because of its speed. Although Google has all chrome users in a bot net, I don't really mind. When I use Ubuntu I just stick with Firefox, because it is default yet reliable.

I always used Firefox too, but I noticed the Google Chromes speed difference, and the fact that most of the time if Google Chrome crashes, just one of the tabs fails, really draw me to the browser.

I use Palemoon portable (Tuned up Firefox).
Every person chooses browser for himself, one needs it to be fast, another needs to have many addons, some will stick to the nicest looking browser.

Personally i chose Palemoon, because i like portable programs, it has better speed. I love firefox of it's addons. As a web developer, i have 4 we browsers on my computer, so i get chance to use them all. But somehow, i always come back to my beloved tuned up fox-moon :)

Firefox, addons.

Iceweasel - a rebranded firefox version that comes with many linux distros.
Does everything that firefox can.

Ubuntu 10.04, Chrome.

I used Chrome on windows and like the layout and all, so I stuck with it. No real reason I guess.

Does Chrome work well on Ubuntu lucid? I read somewhere that it would be a waste to install, because on Linux, Firefox is king.

Firefox, because of the addons
I also like the new builtin tools like the error-console,web-console and 'Inspect Element',wich are quite useful for website-designing...
As for portability I use Firefox-Portable
btw, portableapps.com has lots of useful and known apps, made portable somehow...

On windows7 i use Firefox because of addons like HTTPS everywhere, firebug, http headers, hack bar, etc. really makes website vulns a piece of cake (though i've only used them for SO's challenges :P )
On *nix ive been using Chromium, a chrome spin off for *nix (or maybe just debian? idk) . It's fast, it's amazing, and its sexy lol. My only problem is that it doesn't load facebook, so i use iceweasel for facebook and chromium for everything else :)

I'm Firefox through and through (except on my Android, Dolphin takes the cake there) Windows and Linux I use FF. idk about you guys but my Firefox set up is faster then chromes... esp. when you go in and do a few tweaks like these:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/speed-up-firefox-web-browser.html

Then I would also get some addons (such as Adblock plus and others)

Its reliable, never crashes, is smecksy, and gets the job done.
