So, what do you do?
« on: September 13, 2012, 04:08:49 am »
I wasn't sure if this should go in the random or general discussion so those with more authority feel free to move this. I was really just curious about what you guys do for a living.

I myself just got a job at a plastics factory. Not all of us can work cool networking or ISP jobs or something :( .

So, what do you guys do?

Student working on a comp science bachelors degree while working in telemarketing and also assisting my network admin at the company to learn more about networking and possibly take over for him in a year or two.

@polyphony, I got my first job when I was 16. Check restaurants for dishwashing jobs, if you get the right one it will be the most fun job you'll ever have. All depends on the staff your working with though :P

@chronicx, damn man. Wanna hook me up and customize my '93 civic? Its a 2 door coupe ;) but a students budget lol

@lucid, what do you do there?? It actually sounds kinda interesting depending on what your position is.

@axon, tell us more!! That sounds legit! Id love to hear more about your job there :)

Your a civic guy? I drive a 2006 mustang, im not a big fan of tuners. But not to get off topic. I could deffiently make a 93 nice, cosmetic or engine. Hope you pick engine. but if you wanna continue this topic, get at me in a pm. Dont wanna jack a topic. But yeah, i'd like to work at a computer related job, but for the record, I am a true lover of my job. I look forward to going to work, thats something not alot of people can say, so whatever job you get make sure you love it.

Hi guys,

I am working as an network engineer for a production company. The company has round about 16 locations with nearly 5000 computer users. The location I am working at is on the way to become the centralized datacenter. For now we have 6 locations migrated and connected to our infrastructure. We plan to finish the migration of all locations in the next 3 years. :) So you can inagine we have a lot of work to do.

I make sites (freelancer), not that I like it, but it's something. I just sent my CV to an AV company to see what happens. With the money I'm saving I'm planning to have a company in security of some sort (not pentesting or similar, I like the cyberwar research & development trend!). I used to have a escorts website, but I sold it. I used to sell a software to win the lottery, like a "keygen", of course it didn't work (the software itself, the sellings kept me up during the entire year of 2009). In short, that's what I do, freelancing and entrepreneurship.

EDIT: I'm at the middle of my BSc.
