Digging that flashing logo....though I agree it shouldn't be going all the time because it will trip me out and cause some sort of distraction when im trying to read, like my IRC is flashing right now and i cant see anything but that....dammit >.<
@ande, I like the look with the darker colors. It fits my eyes very well
though maybe instead of having stats at the bottom like we do now, we could some sort of bar on the side that has the new posts etc. with the option for each user to have it on/off depending on their tastes. Maybe do it in green, same color as that flashing logo. Have it look kind of like the rainmaker skin for jarvis or w/e.

---new
---most active //these are the dropdowns if clicked.
o----stats
o----online users
and each one can be clicked on for an expanded menu. then a prominent time piece would be nice on the opposite side, something that shows the forum time and what time zone that is so I don't have to keep looking it up...also with an on/off feature.
Also, i didn't see a search function in that picture? Please tell me that will still be included...
Just my thoughts, do with it as you will. I know it's a lot of work to redo this all, so only do these if you have time/energy. Thanks for doing all this ande + satan911 (assuming your helping)
