Cure for Cancer
« on: October 24, 2012, 06:49:02 pm »
This isn't a very popular topic because it isn't very well-known, but there IS a cure for cancer. A really simple one at that. Dichloroacetate. That's all it is..the reason it's not being sold is because there isn't a way to patent the method of treatment, meaning it can't be legally sold by most pharmacuetical companies therefore they can't make money.

That's not the only website that has the information, just the first one that popped up on google. There's tons more info on it out there.

This one has been posted here before...

And no, it is not true, just a lay man interpretation of things.

Do you think politicians, governments, scientists, doctors , etc will not make it popular?

One would get immense fame and fame is easy to convert to money..

Sorry but I don't believe it at all. Since when did mitochondria become a disease fighter? It provides energy for the cell, and that's it. It's the lysosomes that perform apoptosis, and kill the cell, not the mitochondria. Also, the popularity level of this proves how false it must be. I hear more about ufo stories than i ever heard of this...
I'm not trying to be arrogant or anything, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Quote
So many people have sent me this sensationalistic article, “Scientists cure cancer, but no one takes notice“, that I guess I have to respond. I sure wish it were true, but you should be able to tell from how poorly it is written and the ridiculous inaccuracies (mitochondria are cells that fight cancers?) that you should be suspicious. The radical, exaggerated claims make the truth of the story highly unlikely.Researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada have cured cancer last week, yet there is a little ripple in the news or in TV. It is a simple technique using very basic drug. The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders. So, there is no concern of side effects or about their long term effects.
The simple summary is this: that claim is a lie. There have been no clinical trials of dichloroacetate (DCA) in cancer patients, so there is no basis for claiming they have a cure; some, but not all, cancers might respond in promising ways to the drug, while others are likely to be resistant (cancer is not one disease!); and there are potential neurotoxic side effects, especially when used in conjunction with other chemotherapies.

Lol! I was hoping I wasn't completely ignorant of biology, but your post confirmed almost exactly what I said. I actually thought I was reading my own quote at first. :D

The exact same thing about mitochondria crossed my mind and I contemplated on it a bit, and decided that if it was true then whoever posted this information didn't know shit about biology and misinterpreted the information they were given. I'm not ignorant when it comes to biology, but I didn't wanna dig into it too much, hoping someone else would tell me it's not true so I can be lazy xD. TBH, I really did believe it, out of sheer laziness.
