Internet Problems with win7
« on: November 02, 2012, 08:41:27 pm »
so i have searched the inet for a solution without finding anything that helps.
so heres my problem

randomly i loose internet connection or browser connection o.O
every 60-120min I cant surf with a browser, the connection is like lost.
heres the funny thing i can still ping google :/
sometimes like the first time i can restart DHCP Client and Network Connections and then it works for like 10 min after that totaly dead so i have to restart the computer.
I have checked the firewall, cleared the cookies, ipconfig /release/renew/flushdns, disabled ipv6 and tryed to restart some other services.

any suggestions on what to do?

edit: and yeah i do need windows for some tasks so going linux wont help me atm
edit: and yeah its with ALL browsers
edit: and no router

1. whose your ISP? is it cable or satellite?
2. what do you mean no router?
3. have you reset your internet itself? at the router or the modem

I had this sort of problem a while back and im trying to remember how i fixed it....

Also what makes you think its an OS problem? If you haven't gotten it verified working on other OS's then its more likely a network issue than an OS issue.

First thing I would suggest is to reset the router, but you don't have one...
Does this happen on other computers? -- if yes then it's an ISP issue;
maybe your neighbors if they use the same provider? -- if yes it might be an ISP issue;
does this happen on other systems? -- if yes it is an ISP issue.

Either way it sounds like you need to give a call to your ISP and bitch about corrupt porn after a night of download :)

The fact that you don't have access to it... only so much we can do in that case :(
Odds are it's a router/ISP problem so like kulverstukas said, start calling people and bitching to them.

And if its your own place then you need to have them move the router somewhere you can get access to it in the future, be a control freak when it comes to your home network! :)

True, we posted at like the same time haha.

Best thing I can recommend is checking to make sure all drivers are up to date, then disabling and reenabling your network adaptor. You said you have an IP, a gateway, and a network mask though? and you can still ping... hmmm

I have this EXACT same issue, however my situation might be slightly different..I have a networking program called LogMeIn Hamachi, that basically creates a LAN over the internet for you to connect with your friends and stuff (I use it to run dedicated minecraft servers...). I haven't been using it lately, so I turned off the program, however it still connects to the network. Then it gets "confused" once in a while and tries to get internet through the network, so I have to disable that network by going to "change adapter settings" in the Network and Sharing center.. On a laptop btw, don't know if that makes a difference in this case.

Interesting. My problems were on a laptop running win7 too...

here's a thought, what's your AV? Id your AV controls your firewall then try resetting it to default settings and see if that works. Im pretty sure that's how I solved mine...
