How to get Idea for building Web Application ?!

Hello Programmers and genius Hackers,

 I joined a organization 7 months back but later i didn't like The Company so i Left it.Now i just wonder how to get the requirements to build my own Application. For Example they used alot of Javascript and Jquery it was almost like Twitter everywhere you can see modal window(simple and complex) ,Pagination(which i didn't know until i saw it) <backend and frontend> , Tree View etc etc.

Now i wonder how to get such kind of requirement for my Application before the First Launch .Since i'm only the Coder for my App.

Please Suggest Ideas which could help me to built better App .

I don't get it. You want to make a better webapp than the company was making, or you want to make your CV (application) look better?

I want to make my own  application look better.I'm not getting requirements in order to achieve it.In Company: I use to get requirements Since i'm doing all alone , i have completed the core -parts off application but feature are Missing.
