I searched, but found nothing on the argument: it requires maybe a bit of effort downloading it, but has anyone tried nexpose or some other tools from rapid7?

I did. Really really buggy on windows, be sure your getting it for linux. It is virtually impossible to get a serial key, you have to use some unheard of email address, I forgot what I used :/ Its just a standard scanner, only really big plus is its integratable with metasploit, but so is nmap, so....

I'm trying the demo, I'm not really interested in anything more. To obtain it I had to install a mail server on my pc because they don't want to give it to users who register with free account emails... Well in the end I learned something AND got nexpose, which by the way uses more than 1GB of ram...

I've used it a few times and its decent when it works but as said fairly buggy and there hasn't been a time when I've used it and it hasn't crashed at least once. Does give you reasonable info on the vulnerabilities found as well as the metasploit exploit for the corresponding vulnerability
