unsecured connection

after scanning some few wifi i found an open unsecured ssid but when i try to connect it says limited connectivity aka no line. what type of security of this router or the router have a problem

i would guess its a mac adress filtering..(again its an educated guess)

Lol idk man. that's really not a whole lot of iinfo to go on... they could have a login page on the internet, it could be mac filtering, it could be your comp isn't showing the symbols properly. You need to do some more testing and poking around lol

I'm sorry...but based on what? In order for it to be an eduxated guess there have to be facts for you to draw a conclusion from. that's a wild guess lol

Try to connect some ports and see what ones are blocked. If you are able to only use 22 you could use a ssh tunnel

it could just be that you are too far from that particular wifi spot. signal degrades over distance, it gets to a point that it says that. ive had that problem. or it be the configuration of the wifi router. when i first started using talktalk, all the other connections were fine, but for my computer, it just either showed limited connection, or local only. some changing router settings fixed that.

Unlikely, because that range of corrupted signal and being able to authenticate to the router is very little.

well its not  that wild since i do the same thing on my network...so its one of the possibilities that he should check so yea its an educated guess like i said.
but definitely not a wild one .
