Vista Antivirus 2011 HELP
« on: April 18, 2011, 02:56:31 am »
Hey guys, i couldnt find the right topic to post this under so i figured id put it under OS
So basically about three days ago when i search using my address bar I would be directed towards a search provider named "Scanquery", although my default search provider was google.

Then this morning all of a sudden my internet stops working and this antivirus software pops up, its called Vista Antivirus 2011, and it would not allow me to use the internet.

Right away i system restored, when it finished i opened my system but i still cant run Mozilla Firefox. I was not getting anymore Vista Antivirus pop ups but the problem was that whenever i clicked mozzilla firefox nothing would happen, once i got a popup that said
"the application failed to initialize properly ("hexcode")
Somehow google chrome was still working, So i used google chrome and installed malware bytes and I destroyed all the viruses and infections it found.

Next i found a list of registry keys the virus would have made and i was about to delete them when i found that in my HKEY\currentUSER\software\class (typing from memory i cant access regedit right now) i did not have a .exe value
usually in that area all the file extensions are listed or soemthing but their was no exe file.
So i downloaded a vista exe fix in order to fix my registry but i cant run it.
Command prompt will not run, i managed to run it as admin but i get an ACess Denied whenever i try to run soemthing (eg. Regedit.exe)
I ran malware bytes and it found some more stuff, i restarted and the situation is even worse.
As soon as i start my computer everything starts shutting down
I get messages saying "Kaspersky is no longer working"
"utorrent is no longer working
and pretty much almsot every application i have shutsdown, windows live messenegr doesnt work, adobe PS doesnt work"
I cant run any applications, i downloaded Rkill (from my dads laptop) and tried to use it but it doesnt work either. I did another system restore but still nothing.
All my antivirus shuts down at start and nothing works, at this point i think that the problem is that my exe file thingy has been deleted or soemthing,
Im running a windwos Vista Pc home premium with the latest service pack
I have acces to my dads laptop
Can someone please provide me with a soloution????
EDIt
I just checked my dads registry and he doesnt have a .exe file in hkey\currentuser\software\class so i guess i was wrong
Any ideas on what i can do then?

Yeah, you got a scareware. Those things are nasty. Have you watched porn? :D because mainly that is where viruses like that come from, lol...
Oh and next time, just google it ;)

http://tinyurl.com/3sg3ckx

whole bunch solutions. Though the simplest and may be not always easiest would be to re-install windows and for gods sake Do not! use Vista...

first of all let me say that you are stupid to get infected with such shit. Second - how about giving more detail about your problem? What error? what is happening? where it is happening? really no exe's? even the Windows system ones? show pics of the error pl0x.
