The first questions with audiobook or something another

part 1 is greetz and part 2 is the actual thing enjoy!

Every now and then someone will come up to me and say something along the lines of, "Wow, you know a lot about computers. Are you like a computer hacker?" Usually when this question is asked  I will laugh a bit and tell them, "Well that depends on what you mean by "computer hacker"?" They will usually say something along the lines of, "I bet you like hack into government stuff and fuck shit up." Unfortunately  the conversation ends when I tell them that it requires years of dedication to even begin doing that.

But then occasionally a rare few people show an absolute interest so I have to try to get them involved. Unfortunately the rest is up to them. So with that said, this is process in which I try to help people.

What color hat are you?
I usually stick to grey and black as white would be irrelevant. I tell them that grey hat is where you hack to learn, you don't delete databases and you don't just fuck shit up. Some grey hat web hackers will actually fix the vuln just for the experience. Of course I have to explain what a database and a vulnerability is as well. A database usually written in mysql and is normally a collection of info on all the different users on the site. Then a vulnerability is essentially a weakness in the code of a script that can be exploited, or make the code work to your advantage, whether that be displaying parts of the database to you, or even uploading a shell, or interface. I also explain that that just doesn't apply to web hacking, it also involves application hacking which requires different programming languages. If you want to hack anything you must be a programmer. Now there is the easy way out of being a script kiddie, using programs that you didn't create to automate your hacking but you don't learn anything out of it and you are looked down on even lower than black hats.

Then a black hat will do the same thing except the cause all sorts of damage but are generally looked down on by other programmers or hackers alike.

What do you want to do?
I get a lot of different responses to this question, the main ones being, "I want to hack a website", and "I want to get programs and games for free." This could spark two different conversations, the first being about web hacking and the second about application hacking.
