I tried my hand at glitch art for the first time tonight, it's pretty cool. I used
this site as a nice little tutorial. I jacked up poor little tux bigtime.
Basically the theory behind databending is this...
1) You get an uncompressed image (bmp or similar)
2) You open it up in an audio editor like audacity as just raw data
3) you put filters and shit on it until you deem it finished (be sure not to mess with the header
)
4) export as .bmp and view it all mashed up and distorted.
This is a very simple way of how to do databending, you can actually do the same with a text editor, it would probably take forever, but you know, if you fancy such a challenge. Anyway,
here is my finished product. Bent up tux. I think it's pretty much an eyesore, but practice makes perfect lol.
