Hackers Heaven FTW idk why it switched from Hackers Heaven to EvilZone... I'm sure if netsplitter feels like reading this and posting I would like to hear. However the names the same because of the loyal oldfags like myself... Although EvilZone isn't as evil as it once was, I wouldn't be able to call it home :D

Should it not be a bit more evil?

Id say its less evil on the open boards where anyone can see, and a bit more evil in private sections like PMs and on IRC. Shit, theres a guy on IRC who d0xes new people to it just for shits and gigs. The reason it doesnt seem so "evil" though is because no one wants to be shutdown. Tbh im surprised we havent heard anything about our ebooks collection. ESPECIALLY because its the number one hit for game of thrones pdf on google. Go figure  ::)

To answer OPs question, disregarding the history and how it came about heres a few other reasons:
-Sure as hell sounds better than "nicezone"
-We are evil at heart, but wheres the profit in that? $20 a day to hack shit and risk 5 years in prison? Knock yourself out and send me a postcard mate
-Sure, we could sell CC dumps and shit. But then wed end up going the way of carders market even if we did have an admin that refused to participate in such a lucrative trade so that the site could be considered "informational"
-Have you SEEN how we treat morons idiots and anons? Id say thats pretty fucking evil right there....

But all joking aside, i feel like theres quite a few of you who wish we were more...something. like you wish we were working towards some goal to better the world or make a name for ourselves like some of the old hacking groups (global hell, etc.) did. To which I ask you, what is the point? A reputation that will do you no good outside of the web and may even make your life more difficult as you have to work so hard not to be found? To "better" the world through hacktivism? Honestly, i feel like if thats how you feel this isnt the place for you. Rather, think of EZ as a training ground, a place to test your mettle and prove your worth, a place to read learn and grow without some pissed-off boss breathing down your neck cause shits fucked up and your taking too long to fix it. To that end, yea i feel like their could be a bit more going on, theres a ton of wicked smart people on here, but heres the deal folks, it starts with you. Yes, you. You want to learn about creating and maintaining a server? Follow some guides and ask for help when your stuck, create a sandbox environment web server with email and dns on a *nix system then configure ssh and toss the rest of EZ the info so we can get a chance to practice attacks without having to sweat jailtime and you can practice maintaining, patching, and repairing said server.
Start a programming project that requires a lot of man-hours then get others involved, create and maintain a repository for it. Create tutorials, i feel as though that department should have so much more in it with all the brilliant people we have on here, but sadly most of you seem to be content to read whats there while asking others for new stuff and bitching that were not "doing" anything or that were not "Evil" enough. You want evil? Make some evil.

Skidiot, you are exempt from this tirade about doing something about it because you do want a black hat site and are really only sticking around cause youve been here from so far back and however many usernames. Thats loyalty folks. though i gotta say, i wouldnt mind seeing more stuff from you man, write a guide that breaks down the private tracker scene and gives advice on how to get involved, onto private trackers, which trackers focus on what, and general advice for those new to that scene. That would be legit, and thats just one idea. I got a few more for both you and other members but i dont feel as if its my place to tell you what to do.

On a side note, its been awhile since ive written a guide and im getting busier by the day so heres what im going to do, in the next 3 weeks i will:
Find a topic, brush up on specifics, and write a guide or tutorial for it. I was going to challenge all your manhoods here and call you out for being "too busy" with a detail of my busy schedule then a sorta "if i can do it then you can stop bitching and do it too" attitude then decided against it. Im going to do this, if you want to too then great. If not then thats cool too, no pressure either way folks. Im just saying, dont complain unless your doing something to change it. Not directed at you specifically OP as this has been discussed before and just kinda building in me.

On a side note, i have to be up in less than 3 hours for work so im headed to a power nap.

Cheers

*edit fixed the horrendous spelling and grammar errors, left little ones that i like (FU apostrophe!!!)
also, I cant speak as to exactly where ande sees evilzone at as sadly he and I dont talk too much, my comment above about this being a training ground is based on what ive seen and heard and noticed since I've joined. I could be wrong, are we supposed to be Anon troops ande? :P

MAYBE people who named this site thought  this site would be filled up with evil black hat hackers. Not sure tho.

Hello,

Just read through the topic and I agree with a lot of people here. I don't feel like writing a lot at the moment, so ill be brief.

@OP, why Evilzone is named Evilzone. Honestly, I have no clue. I guess it was a cool name back in the days. Only the true founders would know as said. Since I joined here in 06-07 I have considered this place my home on the Internet, and I cannot let it go for whatever reason. As things are now, the name is a bit deceiving. However, things will change in the near future.

@Daemon, I like your writing and you have good arguments, and I pretty much agree with what you say. And no, we are not anon troops, far from it.
This place will go in the direction that the members want. If people want more evil, yes people would have to post more "evil" stuff. We as admins will provide what is necessary for the members to go in the direction they want. Not saying that the admins don't have a finger in the play, but you get my point I hope.

If you want my opinion on what I want this place to be, it could be summarized as open, free, public, cool and original content, training, learning, education, chillin and talking with people like yourself. Whether or not the discussions are evil or not is not really a big concern for me.

Finally, as you (many of you anyway) may have read around on the forums for some time now. Things are going to change quite a lot soon. I know this has been said A LOT of times for some time(too long if you ask me), but just hang tight, keep on posting as normal and wait for the awesomeness. I can say this much, the new systems and concepts will be more "evil" in some sense and a lot smoother than the current systems(forum, upload service, other stuff). We will also get A LOT of new cool features.

Cheers.

evil.io and netsplitter met on toaste and co-founded evilzone.net. And yes back in the day EZ was a place for skids, however never as bad as HF or some of the other communities back in the day that have since disappeared. EvilZone has always been a training ground for programmers, warez, hacking&security, etc. Back in the day the site was more evil, but that's because people were openly posting dumps for paypals, social networking sites (myspace, hi5, xanga, orkut, etc), porn sites, forum administrator accounts, etc. Where's my love jmscobra at? I'm sure he remembers his epic "deface" on some dudes myspace when GamerZFX released his massive post of MySpace login dumps. There were a host of private and public tools and exploits and a large database of active members. Sadly I see EvilZone today and it can never stand the same without a lot of the members from the beginning. The main problems started between netsplitter and evil.io the domain split and I followed netsplitter as I never liked evil.io. EZ.net became EZ.org. However if you look hard enough evilzone is still a place of gray just not as black as it once was and its focused more on educating the n00bs and for programmers to flourish. If you look through the EZ releases you will come across: http://evilzone.org/evilzone-releases/ez-coders-%28blast-from-the-past%29/ that was just a small portion of the things you would find at EvilZone amongst several other things. I'm been with EZ from the start and I will see it until the finish (which I hope never happens) however moving from SMF to a custom built forum and services will be a lot different as EZ has always ran on it.
