What if... we were just not smart enough....?
« on: January 08, 2013, 11:28:00 am »
What if.... gaining a full understanding of  how the universe works might not be possible “simply because they’re  beyond human brains.”

“Just as a fish may be barely aware of the medium in which it lives and swims, so the microstructure of empty space could be far too complex for unaided human brains.

As for multi-universes;

It’s as if a fish is swimming in one pond, completely unaware that thousands of other ponds exist mere meters away from it. Understanding that those ponds even exist, let alone understanding their connection to the original pond, is understandably beyond the comprehension of a single fish. Similarly, that parallel universes could exist in up to 11 dimensions – while humanity is restricted to three spatial dimensions and time - is beyond human understanding.

“In theory, there could be another entire universe less than a millimeter away from us, but we are oblivious to it because that millimeter is measured in a fourth spatial dimension and we are imprisoned in just three,”      ???

I belive that human brain can grasp anything, it just needs time. In the past many people belived that it was impossible for humans to fly, just like that you are beliving that its impossible for human brains to understand the universe and all that. They were proven wrong and you will be too.

This isn't new to me...  :P but still...

Look at it this way.., you can teach a monkey to read, write.. make calculations..etc.. BUT.. the monkey does have its limits.. Right? Or maybe we could teach it... Quantum Mechanics.. perhaps?  ::)

Likewise.. despite us humans having the smallest "body-to-brain" ration... saying our intelligence knows no limit would be .. arrogant?

Lol, Comparing monkeys with humans ! You crack me up. Humans are the greatest life forms on earth. Keep that in minde. And I have no problem with your thoughts, you can be right and i can be wrong.becaus No one can be 100% sure about anything(also something that i belive). But i just THINK mine is right, thats all. And dont take my words THAT seriously .

Still cant stop laughing about the monkeys, hahaha..........

AND IF YOU HAVE ME -1, THEN CURS YOU.

Read my post again.
And Im from Asia thank you very much, and i aint arrogant, His example is a common example and a good one too . But we are not talking about Evolution or taxonomy or that kind of stuff, we are talking  about human brains limit, witch is why i dont think comparing humans with monkeys is a good example. Becaus a humans brains limit is much higher then a monkeys.
And i did tell him not to take my words seriously , didnt i , then how can you call me arrogant. I just say things for fun. But then i apologise if it hurts some ones feelings.

How is it arrogance if it's true?

how is it true?
tell me, what is the benchmark, to become the greatest life form?

is it to be ungrateful?
Is it to kill your own kind and set records?
is it to set a record on making a large numbers of species extinct?
is it to try your best at making others miserable?
Is it to be the only specie to destroy whole eco systems?
is it the ability to poison everything you can access?
Is it the ability to be the greatest parasite?

or is it the ability to think the most ingenious ways to kill?

All i know is humans are considered as the greatest species on earth becaus of two things,
humanity and creativity. I might be missing something els but thats all i know about it.

And if you think i wrote that to hurt someones feelings, then your damn wrong man. And if someone did get their feelings hurt by my words, then im very sorry.

Ugh, admins. Lock this shite please. Its gone from bad to worse and hasn't served any intellectual purposes except maybe to irritate my few awake brain cells.

Guys, if your going to argue then do so with logical arguments and a lack of insults. Insulting serves no purpose except to say that your mind is closed and your going to refuse to listen to anything no matter how convincing the argument.

Might I also suggest reading some books on presenting logical arguments and avoiding fallacies?
