Sorry i didnt notice that i was being rude, i just thought the replys were going off topic. So i just said that so people would   stop answering my question and keep answering Code.Illusionists simple question. Im not soo good at english so maybe some sentenses that i write may seem rude to people but im not noticing it. I hope we dont have any more misunderstandings. And sorry if any one felt bad for what i said.

5+11+17+23+............+59 = ?


Its a serial that has each numbers that increases in the same amount every time . So we have to figure out the total amount . ( sorry for not being clear, i didnt study this in english )

rasenove you don't have to apology to me, i am not better than you in any way and you didn't do something bad, so you don't have to say sorry, i just felt the need to protect a new member that wanted to help.
I have to admit that i didn't  see that another member opened the original thread i thought it was you, so my bad, about English now, believe me i thing you are better than me    when i saw your post it gave me that picture, probably because  my English isn't so good also and didn't understand what you meant.And because i had just waked up.

The answer to resenov's question
The question is of A.P.(Arithmatic Progression).
Let a_n denotes the n^th term  which in our case is 59
a denotes the first term which in our case is 5
d denotes the common difference which in our case is 6

An AP is of the form
 a_n = a + (n - 1) x d  (x denotes multiplication)
by putting the values,we get
59 = 5 + (n - 1) x 6
=> 54 = (n - 1) x 6
=> 9 = n - 1
=> n =  10.
To find the sum of this AP,we have everything we need. The formula of the sum of an AP is
S_n = nx(2xa + (n - 1)xd )/2
=> S_n = 10x(2x5 + (10 - 1)x6)/2
By solving,we get
S_n = 320.

Therefore the sum of 5+11+17+...+59=320.

meh, i had the need to answer to rasenove, i could pm him but again i can't understand why the original thread got locked, anyway techb is a mod he knows better than me.
