Formatting Question?
« on: February 06, 2013, 06:07:00 am »
quick question, using the method of formatting an android device as the one discribed in this link. Is it save to say that this method will delete everything contained in the cellphone so that no one or no method is able to retrieve the lost data.

Yes, but but the memory card. I'd also recommend filling phone with some junk after reset and then again doing a reset...
That washes everything.

the memory card isn't erased though.

Might still leave some device specific (vendor) partitions.

hard reset removes all data... Back to how the phone was at purchase. Even the battery stats..

if you're that paranoid, just flash the stock rom too.

No not really, with recovery/forensic tools a lot can be found.
The data actually needs to be overwritten with junk.
