Set priority > High?

I'll give it a shot, but I'm not expecting much as that doesn't seem to help with other things..

Well, I can see improvements in vm's when I do this. Some games also run smoother.

I have a couple games that run rather slow on my amazing hardware, maybe I should try this.. I Am Alive is a big one. I'm pretty sure it's only supported on Win7, but it's very choppy on lowest settings on Win8, even in compatibility mode. Metro 2033 is the same way, but I can get it to run smooth by dropping the settings, which absolutely breaks my heart because I can run some pretty intense games on highest settings:( maybe its an NVidia thing?

What I wanted windows 8 for was windows phone 8 sdk and visual studio 2012. Microsoft has put so much confidence on windows 8 that they're cutting development support on windows 7.

I wouldn't recommend it.. if you setup your Windows 8 installation with an internet connection it REQUIRES you to use a Microsoft account linked with it. I definitely would not use a pirated copy of Windows 8. From what I've seen from using it you are pretty much connected to the Microsoft server all the time while running it, so what's to say they couldn't do other checks, collect information at anytime, etc. I'm just paranoid though. :)

That's not truth. I've had Windows 8 installed (original, I have access to MSDNAA) and I wasn't required to create/use a Microsh!t account. In fact, I remember I could just skip the step where they ask you to link/setup an account.

It wouldn't let me skip it, it was either link with an account or not install.

That's strange... Maybe you missed the button. Maybe it was a simple (>>) symbol. I don't remember, but I know I never needed a MS account.

Probably, I'm sure there was a way around it.

your safe man, ive been using it for months now and have some really expensive pirated software..for them to be able to make it detect that seems to me that theyd also have access to our private data

Its impossible to outright block pirated software, if anyone ever needs any cracks or bypasses including for win8 feel free to holla at me and ill sort it for you, I crack all my own stuff these days (* If anyone wants to learn how to do it themselves feel free to ask an ill point you in the right direction! *)
