Some loops
« on: February 15, 2013, 04:28:56 am »
Here are 22 loops exported as .mp3 at 192kbps, I made them from scratch, except for the 2 drum loops I got them from one of the vengeance packs.
Feel free to use them and whatnot. They are a dancey genre.

Nice, downloading now, I'll send them to my friend for thoughts too:D

EDIT: Also, even though you made it at 192kbps, zip files will decrease their quality.

How would a zip file decrease the quality? A zip file is a compressed file. Once restored, it returns to it's original state, like unchanged. Am I right?

My friend who is absolutely obsessed with music quality told me exactly how it works a couple months ago..to the best of my memory, he said that when a file is compressed, it loses bits of data that are deemed "unimportant", or not necessary to the completeness of the file. With a text file, those bits are easily restored because that's all it is: text. All the bits of information that could have been lost are so generic that they could be applied to any text file. But with music, the bits are specific to to that file and even more specific to certain areas of the tracks in the file. He said something similar to that, only it sounded alot more sophisticated and made much more sense.. if you want I'll have him explain it to me again so I can repeat it properly lol.

Your friend trolled you or gave you wrong information.

Lol he doesn't even troll me on the littlest of things, but he has a serious phobia about compressing audio.. I guess I never looked it up for myself. Maybe it'd be better if I looked up how compression works so I can understand for myself, those links you posted are just statements (idk about the last one, can't open it while I'm at school).

Either way what did you think of the loops?

Sorry about the hijack...
I'm not much into the dancey genre, but I really liked the "screamleadmelodyfull.mp3".

bouncing down the track into mp3, itself, degrades quality. basically, to compress it to that size (not the same as zip compression, this one is irreversible)  it removes unimportant frequencies, such as the highest, and lowest frequencies, as 20Hz is not really heard at all. its felt. and 20KHz is beyond many peoples audible range, as human hearing degrades below that as we grow. but yeah, if you work with audio, you will notice the difference in quality between the original work, and the mp3 bounce. The advantage of mp3 is.. the average listener will not hear the difference, and file sizes are much smaller. despite that.. now going to download the pack and have a listen.
EDIT: nice stuff! liked the vengeance drum sounds best though, and the Arp melodies.

Some of it sounds very influenced by nightcore/hardstyle, I like it!
