THE PLAYSTATION 4 IS HERE!!! 

Seriously, did anyone else watch the 2 hour long event? It was livestreaming all over the place. There will be a gazillion reviews going up in a few minutes. What do you all think?

I'm largely apathetic to gaming, but damn, this 'end of an era' feeling I'm having right now...

so the ps4 will release, the next xbox will release, and then they won't know where to go. There's a guy out there, who had a great idea, and it's quickly rising in popularity. I fucking hope/wish/dream that sony and microsoft, or even some other random large company takes this up and really commercializes this, it will save the gaming industry and make me the happiest person alive...Virtual Reality. The Oculus Rift is soon to be released, its very simple but a huge start on the VR industry. Basically all it is right now is a small headset that you use to look inside the game. You still have to use a controller for movement and shooting, but you control where you look with your head. Human eyesight has a range of 120 degrees peripheral, so he set the video size to 180, so your entire vision is filled with the game to completely immerse yourself in it.

Unreal 4 Engine doesn't run on PS3's, so they are launching a new one. The 3 was released in 2006 so it's been around 7 years since then with no major hardware or software overhauls, so I guess it makes sense.

Now that is something I'd like to see integrated into next-gen consoles.

Because the PS3 is old. Newer generations always replace the older ones

It will be released in late 2013, I think that's to early. Summer of 2014 will be appropriate in my opinion.

No, I think that is the perfect time for a release. We'll be getting a lot more information in the coming months especially in June at E3. After that, they'll most likely take the advertising and marketing up to another level for a release in late 2013.

Never? It took 5 years with the PS3 so it will probably take about 15 years with the PS4

i mean there isnt a lot more they've add from ps3 apart from giving it a new controller, more social features, and make it more powerful. gaming should be the same as always. i do hope the rumours of cross platform gaming is true. would love to have a ps vs xbox battle on cod

I hope there will be enough time to play all the awesome games that will be released on PS3 this year (Tomb Raider, Bioshock infinity,God of War). I also missed so many games that were released in the past years. As for the PS4 release date, I highly advice anyone not to buy it as soon as it's released, usually game consoles have some malfunction problems as soon as they hit the shelf.

Well actually they've added and fixed up quite a lot of things. PS vs Xbox would be awesome.

I can't wait to get my hands on Tomb Raider. Europe will probably get a delayed release so if there are any problems they should be sorted before I get it.

You won't be able to play PS3 disc on PS4 then you won't be able to play PS4 disc on a PS3 But some games will also be released on the PS3 so ...
