I thing i know who is doing that, but i don't really care, i personally find my self applauding members more often some times for no apparent reason. lol.

The bad karma to a user in a hacking forum when i join, it makes me believe that this user he may be a "malicious" one.

But the most of us here we all ready should know that karma is very generic, there are a lot of users with negative karma and actually they offer a lot to the forum, and some with positive karma that their posts is at least not important.

I also have a good karma although i don't contribute much, and do some trolling  ;D  here and then, you know just for fun.

ps: you smite lover i want you to know that i admire you and i thing you done a great job with the smiting so....you know you can consider me a friend.ok  ;D

* EDIT
The one thing that annoys me is when i see people smite some new 1st posters members, we must be lenient with new guys, we are here also to change  the way some people think  even if they started with the wrong way, ofc. there are exceptions always.

Hmmm. Seems this is getting more and more of a problem.

I ran the logs and have identified about 8-10 people giving a lot of smites. However, that doesn't really concern me. What concerns me is the fact that almost every single one of the people giving large number of smite attempts is respectable members, and if not respectable, at lest active posters. They have hundreds of posts, thousands combined. You guys should know better.

Not entirely sure what to do yet, but if this problems consists I might run a more in depth log parse and start sending out warnings.

That is a bit disturbing

Well It depends on how you look at that.
If someone is around a lot and been here a while if course they are gonna show up high.
Time compared to smite per member would be a more logical query, or am I talking rubbish?

The only one I really smited the shit out is pllayaboy or something like that.
Wtf where you thinking with that signature? - Phage.

Only parsed the last 10 million lines of the access log, so membership time doesn't really play in.

Well if the admins can, they could use an SMF extension like this.

Nah, this is the point of karma. Its been like this since the age of time(or EZ). Karma is and should be anonymous.

You don't need to display the member's name but atleast the post can be displayed to give us an idea of what we're been applauded or smited for.

There is a better solution in my opinion to this problem, when someone is applying for a vip status, their +/- karma should not be considered. Instead a few respected members should be selected to vote for accepting the member as a vip. The reason why I said vip only is because it's taking under consideration when applying for a vip membership.

That's seriously disturbing, we are facing a dilemma here. Respected members should always show the bright side of this forum not the opposite.

I don't know why people smite me. Yesterday I had -35 and now has -38. I just posted some news in the evilzine news thread and I don't know why I got.
