which antivirus to use free ?

hey guys i uses to use whistler nod 32 but after 4 months it now works.. -.-
i use Windows more than Linux so pls help  me.

I heard avast is pretty good, you might also want to check out avg.  I check spoofee almost daily and from time to time I see them giving away registered copies of avast and avg.

I use avast and like it alot. I started a thread awhile back discussing this topic. You might wanna check it out

Been using Avast for 2 years now, nice and simple interface and keeps my windows secure.

Malwarebytes is very good as scantime AV.

Avira first, Avast comes second. Also as a precautionary measure use portable security tools

I personally like Avira, it is very unobtrusive. AVG was too flashy for me. Also make sure you have Malwarebytes or some equivalent.

You all are recommending Avast but I thought that Avast antivirus is a lagging indicator because it is free. I heard zonealarm is one good one.

Not everything that has a price tag is better than a free alternative.

this is because you've always downloaded stuff from Trustful websites, Avast is the most silliest Antivirus, it is very much easier to bypass.
In my view Panda Antivirus is the best because it doesn't even allow the process 'wscript.exe' to be run while Avast don't even bother to see what is happening inside the VBScript code
