Cheapskate
« on: April 26, 2012, 05:56:19 am »
So, I live i a country where access to the internet in so f***ing expensive and I had been looking for a software to bypass that; 3 years ago I found Tor, but soon enough(like after 6 months or so) it got blocked. I've tried everything since then, even Tor bridges but it's still blocked. What do I do?(apart from paying that is). I had to hack my Uncle's computer to send this message. Guys...I need help.

Hmm. This may be obvious but have you tried proxies other than Tor? Obviously you'd have to choose proxies that aren't in your country. You could try

          https://www.secure-tunnel.com/
          http://alienproxy.com
          http://proxify.comt
          http://www.ip-adress.com/proxy_list/78.129.17.150:8090

Now unfortunately you can't use those if you can't access the web. There are also paid proxies that are more reliable and even though you have to pay it is much cheaper than you internet I imagine. You can also look in to VPNs.

https://openvpn.net/

Hope this helps a little

Hard to say. Could be anywhere from 5 usd to 200 usd a month. Obviously pick the one which best suits your taste but I'd say away from the ridiculously cheap ones. Mind you this is in dollars.

Paying is usually a more secure option.

You could always try and hack neighbors Wi-Fi... if none are available then make yourself one of those long-range directional Wi-Fi antennas :P

And I am being serious here... it's what I would try to do.

More details can help you get more help. What does it say when you try to connect?

Maybe it's not an AP, but a antenna? I have similar setup on my house - there are 2 AP's - one is my router, another is my ISP's AP, but it's really an antenna and you need other hardware to connect to it, computer can't for some reason.

But if it's a real AP then there's probably a MAC filter enabled or you are doing it wrong :P either way more details are needed.

So, you're looking for a program to have internet access? I think it's called ISP :p

On a more serious note, if you're looking for a VPN/Proxy there are plenty free that work very well (logged of course).
If you want a fast internet connection you really don't have a option, you need to have some sort of connection, being Wired and Wireless the only options, in which wireless would require a powerful sender and receiver (GPS/Anthena connection) or Wifi (approached above).
Wired would mean you were connected to a modem (you can try to clone your neighbors modem and see if it works with both online, if so, it's solved.)

Let me tell you, I don't consider Social Engineering hacking, but it's great so you can "hack" your way in, for instance, start saying hi to your neighbors and eventually you will be able to go inside their home and "fix" some problem on their computer and adding your MAC to their network.
Thanks for reading,

I think there is a misunderstanding here, he didn't specify what he wants exactly. First he complains that the internet is expensive, ok that is something we can all understand but then he stated he wants to bypass his ISP. The two things are different, bypassing your ISP doesn't mean you wouldn't pay for internet service. You are connecting to a distant server using you own internet which is expensive. So which one do you want to achieve ? Not paying for internet service or getting anonymous over the internet or both ?

Edit:
There is no software that will allow you to bypass paying money for your ISP?

Axon:  you need to get an ip assigned, so you need an ISP. Or build one and connect it with the rest :p
Years ago, people spoofed their MAC address to another one belonging to an user with more speed contracted. They fooled the ISP to make it provide them more bandwidth and speed.
I wasn't into this those years, I just read some old texts explaining that.

I don't want to pay for internet anymore. That's it. I don't care about anonymous stuff(not a criminal btw).

Hack neighbors WiFi. That is the only way to not pay. You could also use the high power antenna mentioned to extend your wireless AP options.

Save up 1000 Pringles cans, build a massive cantenna. You will be able to pick up wireless for about a 20 block radius.
