Receiving mail in the post anonymously

In my country, you can get prepaid visa cards and you can have any name on them but when you apply for them, you have to give them an address to send the card to. Obviously if you provide your own address, then the card isn't anonymous. Any ideas on how to get around sending things to your own address? Renting a PO box at the post office is one option but you need an ID so you'd need to get a fake drivers license before doing that. An option that works in America is driving around the city and finding foreclosed houses. Since they have outdoor mailboxes in America, you can just collect your mail from the foreclosed houses mailbox. In my country, we don't have outdoor mailboxes.

An option that will work for everyone in this case (ordering a credit card) is:  just pick any old address, get the mail sent there then when the mail should have arrived, knock on the door and tell the people in the house that you accidentally gave the wrong street number when you got the mail sent. That way you get a card that can't be traced back to you. Obviously you can't order things to your house with this card but it will be good for registering to VPNs and stuff like that. If you're a paranoid bastard like me, it will give you peace of mind knowing that you're completely anonymous online. Do any of you know any other tricks for receiving mail anonymously?

Rent some apartment for a day. if your mail service is fast enough. Go to some nearby city that attracts tourists and rent an apartment.
Get the mail. You must be sure that the post is punctual.

For example here goa is a tourist trap. Loads of apartments for hire. Not much id verification.

Prices are about 800 rupees ( 15 $) a day.  But that's my country. I had to rent once and thought about the possibilities.



if you're rich enough get an account at Swiss bank .



Alternatively, use a hotel.. But that's a lot less safe.

i dont think you need to rent an apartment you can just send the stuff to a totally random adres and wait there when the postman comes and ask if there is any letter for you

loked it up quickly in sweden there is anonymous postboxes ^^

A problem with renting an appartment or waiting at a random address is you don't know exactly how long it will take for the post to arrive. It could arrive the next day, or it could be delayed etc. Sending to a random address is still an option because you can knock on the door and collect it, unless the people in the house decide that the letter/package is theirs to do what they want with it.

Another option I heard of somewhere is sending your mail to a construction site. I worked construction before, generally anyone can just walk in and out of a construction site and the only people who will question what you're doing there are the people in charge (i.e. the contractor). The crew I worked with renovated appartment buildings and houses and while we were working, the front door would be open so workers could come and go. If mail was delivered, they'd sign for it (if it requires a signature) and theres no way they'd throw it away because its not their house/building so you could walk into the site and pick it up. If you can't find it, just tell someone that the post office got the address mixed up and sent your mail to this address accidentally, they'll go and find it for you. I think the best type of site would be houses that are being renovated just before the new owners move in. The workers would assume the post belongs to the previous owners so they'd store it somewhere. Its pretty easy to find renovation sites because they usually have a skip (garbage container) outside.

Sorry to bring back a dead thread.

Does USPS do a background check or anything of that nature; in other words, would they do anything besides look at an I.D(Fake in this case) to verify?

Is this the only way of getting pre-paid debit cards?

The only other way i see around this is using some social engineering on a clerk at a shady hooker hotel: Fuck her if it's a girl, do some lines(She'll think it's cool), pay her and get to the point.

Anyways i', asking cause i wanted to sign up with BTguard.

Can't you go to a store and buy a prepaid card? just pay with cash and nothing is traceable to you. I've never had the need to do it but I've heard of some people doing that, but this is America, I'm not sure how that all works in other countries.

In some instances you can buy the Green Dot (PayPal recharge card), and setup a new PP acct. They only let you send 1-2k before you have to verify with a social/bank etc. But you can burn multi emails/paypals. Cards are bought with cash so nothing can come back.


Ive even had someone ELSE get the green dot card and then its even out fo state/country. But that means you must trust em. Some would argue that isn't as anon as it could be, but hey, were trying to pay for BTguard....

And did you mean you can't exceed a balance of over 2k before you need bank verification? Or you only get to put 2k period in it's whole life time?

If you want to stay entirely anonymous i suggest you scope a place out first and check for cameras ;] I've heard somewhere that wa-lmart doesn't keep copies of their recordings, something about it being a waste of money.

Nevermind that's just for the service to reload your card. The green dot requires your SSN to register one...

I read a book "How to be invisible" by J.J. Luna. What he mentioned is creating a ghost address and several different ways which I wont mention but one. He says you should use an abandoned building. Preferably an office building that is being renovated or has been shut down. Although the building may not be vacant it is still technically addressed in the postal system. You can do this as well with real estate homes as well. Find real estate in your area and find houses closest to your location that are up for sale. Use this address as a ghost address for receiving mail.


These option may not be available but he also mentioned that its safer to use an address outside the county, city or state that you live in and every so often visit that location to get your mail. I hope this helps, just make sure if you do consider my post, please and please make sure the office or house has not been vacant for more than 3-6 months. That usually means the property is hard to sell, which makes it convenient for your mail to arrive without someone sending the mail back or throwing it out.
