Sounds about as legit as all those Tor network hitmen.

It's likely fiction, ffs. I'm too lazy to track it down right now.

I did come across a guy in the uk hiring another guy to 'hit' someone in the face. Seemed pretty legit to me.  :P

If you're content with it. You can use CyanogenMod to get all the ice cream sandwhich goodness on to your device as well. I never used ginger bread, maybe check the compatibility of ICS 4.0 on the explorer just to be safe since you plan on using CyanogenMod.

If you can get a good deal on a galaxy  s for 100usd , but for that price maybe try  HTC or along those lines, something like the HTC Droid incredible.

Edit: be sure to keep in mind locked and unlocked phones when buying one.

Operating System / Re: What do you think of Kali as a OS?
« on: May 26, 2013, 02:26:12 am »
@OP i suggest this for a future linux distro https://www.archlinux.org/ . I mean i'd say just go ahead and start messing with it, but it can be very difficult at times. At the least it's good to know about, a little reading can't hurt :p.

I think the whole tablet/phone market took a completely wrong direction.
"Why is a tablet just an oversized phone and not a computer" ?

2 years ago I bought a tablet and returned it the same week.
I was deeply dissapointed by android.
I had a piece of awesome hardware with a completely useless OS.
Considering myself a power user I thought about hacking it , running linux on it etc.
But than I would void my warrantly for attempting to make it a useful device.
And that was just to much for the money I spent.
Got my money back though.

There is this KDE tablet , I have no idea if its gonna be released (where a lot of delays etc).
What I would really love to see is a tablet with an open bootloader/bios.
Why is it that they dont just make that and instead force you to work with something.
I thought I bought a device, not the software.
Interesting how in the last couple years we stepped back in time 20 years.
Roughly the same scenario with IBM , apple etc back in the days.
Im confused.

A bit off topic but Microsoft's "Surface Pro" not the "Surface RT", but the Pro allows you to access the BIOS settings and disable the secure boot. Also i don't think it would void the warranty either.

I agree even though tablets are nice and a really good improvement in technology, right now its just a way for the big companies to make nice cash on the side.

When I wrote this thread, Drugs, wasn't what I meant :/ more like electronics and stuff. No one else? come on guys...

I feel bad for not giving you the answer you were looking for, and I know that you hate drugs :p so I did some history mining and came across some other sites I've been to.

Link: http://m.tigerdirect.com/
TigerDirect- it has new and refurbished computer parts. I have noticed that you can come across some pretty cheap parts on this site the store I work for has used this site a few times since over worked there. It's border line as popular as newegg or used to be.

Link: http://www.dynamism.com/
Dynamism- I don't think this site has computer parts but more like interesting hardware on it, like one of those hand held computers with SD and USB slots. You might have to look around it to find something actually worthwhile. Also I think it's purpose was to open up U.S. citizens to some of the euro electronics market.

Link: http://www.jd.com/
JD- is a huge Chinese online store for all your cheap shit Asian needs. Personally I just like looking through it. I don't think I'll ever buy anything from it but I have a friend who enjoys the Chinese market.

The last two links are 'gadget' stores for the general public. I very seldomly find things on here I find interesting but I might as well link them for you so you can give them a look.

Link: http://www.thinkgeek.com/
ThinkGeek is a really popular online store for these kinda of things.

 Link:http://www.firebox.com/
FireBox- same thing as ThinkGeek except more 'hipster' and more exspensive.

Hope this is what you were looking for :)

I use newegg for all my computer parts (never been a ebay user)

Since Ragehottie already mentioned Silkroad there is another site BMR (black market reloaded). It seems alot more sketchy than SR but it has an 'armory' kinda shitty tho but i'd say give it a check if you're curious. I have seen other sites in onionland that offer guns for sale but i don't even use Silkroad.

Like someone mentioned, it looks just like a mac.. Sure there's replacement parts everywhere, they're easy to fix, and all that, but don't you think there's a reason the parts are so cheap and easy to come by..?

Well for me the reason i dislike macs isn't because the way they look. I think it puts a good taste into the exterior design of laptops, and ya Acer did start from Walmart shelves but i think they are pointing themselves in a decent direction. I see where the skepticism comes from though why buy something cheap and maybe end up replacing parts all the time kind of idea. It's a laptop though like what was mentioned before, they are just something you go through in a certain amount of years now days. If i had any advice id say stick with a rig build it yourself and order all the parts from newegg, but for a laptop i think its an acceptable aesthetically pleasing choice.

Ugh, this thing gets just a little bigger everytime I turn it on... I'm too broke for this shit.

Why not try and start building a rig, you can get the best 'bang for your buck' from sites like newegg or ebay (if you trust people) :)
